"Ask the winemaker about his wine, he will surely have the best," says an old French proverb. The third edition of the Slovak Wine Guide is intended for anyone who is not satisfied with such an answer. Vladimír Hronský, a passionate promoter of quality wine, presents almost 400 wines available on the market and 58 of the most important wineries. It will introduce readers to the labeling of Slovak wines on labels, introduce them to the character of individual vintages, as well as traditional and new grape varieties, including Hossa and Ritual Riesling registered in 2018. Anyone who appreciates quality wine service will find something to their liking. How wine is served by a professional, when it is time to decant and why guests may top up wine at any time is explained in the chapter dedicated to sommelier. The book is also a practical aid when traveling for good wine in Slovakia thanks to complete information about wineries, including accommodation and tastings. In the international gastronomic book competition Gourmand World Cookbook Awards 2018, the English edition of the publication won 3rd place in the category Best book about European wine excluding France.
