Celebrate with us the establishment of the Czechoslovak Republic with Slovak wines and traditional dishes in the Pilsen brewery

This year, residents of Pilsen and visitors to the West Bohemian metropolis can enjoy an original celebration of the Day of the Independent Czechoslovak State. On Monday, October 28, they are invited to the Tasting Evening of Slovak wines and flavors in the Secession Conference Center, which will be followed by the Slovak Week in Hospoda Na Spilce from October 30 to November 3.

The tasting evening of Slovak wines and flavors will start on October 28 at 5:00 p.m. Master chefs from Hospoda Na Spilce will prepare a five-course menu made from local ingredients. For example, a warm appetizer will be served - zubáč with peas, sausage sauce and tripe, the next main course will offer lamb loin, pressed spinach, sheep's cheese ktoket, morel espuma, lamb flank chips, barley risotto and tarragon. Of course, the final sweet dessert will not be missing: pinwheel, white chocolate cream and bryndze, chocolate clay.

The experienced Slovak oenologist and sommelier Vladimír Hronský will take care of the pairing of wines and an insider's talk about wine during the tasting evening. "My life is wine. From studying at the wine school and later at the university, I built my own path to it. My grandfather, who was my mentor, stood at its beginning. He taught me to understand winemaking, but also the vineyard. You cannot make good wine without quality grapes", he reminds.

However, the non-traditional celebration of a key event in the history of the Czech and Slovak Republics does not end with the tasting evening! In addition to the regular menu, a special offer of Slovak dishes will be available in Hospoda Na Spilce in the courtyard of the Pilsen brewery from Wednesday, October 30 to Sunday, November 3. Again with the option to complement the dish with a selected Slovak wine or to purchase the entire bottle. As part of the Slovak Week, guests will taste the best of Slovak cuisine, including cabbage, bryndza dumplings and fried bacon, venison ragout with root vegetables and potato wedges, or buns with marinated plums and cottage cheese.
